and harpist, Sophie first turned to opera, both in the repertoire and in contemporary creations.<\/strong> After studying singing at the <b>Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London<\/b> and <b>At the Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste in Berlin, she<\/b> performed roles throughout Europe, in the United States and in Asia: Orfeo, Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck in Berlin, Galath\u00e9e, Pastorale by Pesson at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Ch\u00e2telet, Re-walden by A.Markeas at the EMPAC in New York, Nancy T&#8217;ang, Nixon in China by Adams at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Ch\u00e2telet in Paris. <b>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Ch\u00e2telet<\/b>, Candelas dans El Amor Brujo de Falla, Jacqueline, Le M\u00e9decin malgr\u00e9 lui de Gounod \u00e0 <b>L&#8217;Op\u00e9ra de Saint-Etienne<\/b>, title role in Bizet&#8217;s Carmen, then title role in Saint-Sa\u00ebns&#8217; Fr\u00e9d\u00e9gonde at <b>Saigon Opera<\/b> in Vietnam, Ulrica in Verdi&#8217;s Il Ballo in Maschera at Orvieto Opera in Italy, etc&#8230;     <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A composer and improviser, Sophie is also a creative force.<\/strong> She began writing songs at an early age, accompanying herself on the harp, which she performed in a number of concerts, before composing for the performing arts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Artistic director of the Des Lieux &amp; Des \u00catres company, Sophie&#8217;s desire to bring artists together<\/strong> has led her to create shows based around the voice, offering a variety of aesthetic approaches and blending repertoire with her creations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>While in lockdown, she joined J.Pontier&#8217;s composition class<\/strong> at <b>P\u00f4le Sup&#8217;93- CRR d&#8217;Aubervilliers <\/b>and obtained her DEM in June 2023. Sophie then perfected her skills in Aur\u00e9lien Dumont&#8217;s class at the <b>Cr\u00e9teil CRR.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Sophie writes various pieces for prestigious ensembles such as <b>Court-Circuit, 2E2M <\/b>and <b>Accroche Note<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Philharmonie de Paris commissioned her to<\/strong> create &#8220;Solstice-chant \u00e0 la lune&#8221; in March 2023, a lyric poem that she created alongside the<b> Multilat\u00e9rale ensemble<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophie was then named laureate of the &#8220;Territoires en cr\u00e9ation&#8221; scheme launched by the<\/strong><b>Ars Nova ensemble<\/b>, which commissioned her for the 2023-24 season. These included the creation of a lyrical work for contralto voice, string quartet and piano: &#8220;Sur l&#8217;\u00e9toffe de mon \u00e2me&#8221;, based on a poem by Tah\u00e9r\u00e9 Qurrat al-Ayn, and published by <a href=\"https:\/\/loctanphare.com\/auteurs-compositeurs\/sophie-leleu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les Editions L&#8217;Octanphare<\/a>. This work was premiered at the Electrosession festival in Saint-Palais sur Mer in March 2024.  <\/p>\n<p>She was then commissioned by the Ars Nova ensemble to write a piece entitled Mosa\u00efque: a solo for bass clarinet, which was premiered by Eric Lamberger: &#8220;Sixi\u00e8me sens&#8221; in April 2024. The ensemble renewed their confidence in him by commissioning a new work: &#8220;Vision&#8221;, based on texts by Hildegard Von Bingen. This time for choir, organ and instrumental ensemble: saxophone, brass quintet, accordion and percussion, it will be conducted by J\u00e9r\u00f4me Pillement and premiered as part of the <b>Royan-Orgues festival<\/b> in October 2024. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>In autumn 2024, Sophie began a collaboration with<\/strong> <b>the ensemble L&#8217;Instant Donn\u00e9<\/b>, for whom she wrote a quartet for flute, bass clarinet, violin and cello: &#8220;Prima Materia&#8221;, premiered in December 2024 at the CRR in Cr\u00e9teil. Next, Sophie creates and performs music with her harp for Amos Gita\u00ef&#8217;s show &#8220;Golem&#8221; at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre National de la Colline in Spring 2025, followed by tours to Teatro Mundi in Pompeii and Teatros Del Canal in Madrid in 2026.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In July 2025,<\/strong> <b>the Ensemble Intercontemporain<\/b> premiered its piece &#8220;Sixi\u00e8me sens&#8221; at the Institut Su\u00e9dois in Paris. This piece marked the beginning of his collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artchipel.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Editions Musicales l&#8217;Artchipel<\/b> <\/a>which will publish his forthcoming scores.<\/p><p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">The <strong>Centre Pr\u00e9sence <\/strong><\/span><strong>Compositrices<\/strong> commissioned her to write a work for quintet and young female choir, to be premiered by the Nota ensemble and the Brignoles conservatory choir in May 2026.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate its 45th anniversary, the<strong>Orchestre National d&#8217;Auvergne Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes commissioned him to<\/strong> create a festive piece to open the concert program on September 25 and 26, 2026 at the<strong>Op\u00e9ra Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Clermont Ferrand<\/strong> and on September 27 at the <strong>Op\u00e9ra de Vichy<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><strong>Sophie is named finalist in the &#8220;Unanimes&#8221; international orchestral composition competition<\/strong> organized by the AFO. The<strong>Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France<\/strong> will premiere her work &#8220;Animal&#8221; on October 1, 26 at Studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><strong>The Maison de la Radio also commissioned<\/strong> &#8220;Enigmes&#8221; for the <strong>Radio France choir<\/strong>, piano and percussion, to be recorded and broadcast in late autumn 2026 on Anne Montaron&#8217;s program <strong>&#8220;Cr\u00e9ation Mondiale&#8221; on France Musique. on a poem by Gersende de Sabran, a 13th-century trobairitz, to be premiered at Abbaye de la Celle on May 2, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-id=\"8ad26e8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">Then Sophie is selected for the final of the <strong>Unanimes symphonic music competition <\/strong>organized by the AFO. She then moved to Berlin to study singing at theUniversit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste. On her return to France, she completed a Master&#8217;s degree specializing in the art of the Lied at the CRR de Metz in the class of U.Reineman.
